- Simon has specialised in advising on claims for costs, principally in relation to professional negligence actions involving Solicitors, Barristers, Accountants, Surveyors and other professionals since 1993 and he celebrated his 32nd year in his profession on 5th June 2023. Having worked for a regional firm for 19 years he decided to start his own niche practice, Profin Cost Solutions Ltd in 2010 and that firm has grown from strength to strength and it will celebrate its 13th birthday in September 2023.
The Company provides costing, negotiation and advocacy support to firms of Solicitors, Insurance Companies and Media Organisations throughout the United Kingdom and as a qualified Costs Lawyer, Simon regularly attends Detailed Assessment Hearings across the country as well as in the Senior Courts Costs Office and the Supreme Court in London and CCMCs, principally in the High Court in London.
The world of costs continues to change at rapid pace and Simon's aim is to provide a user-friendly and costs-conscious service whilst also taking into account relevant deadlines. Whilst there are other firms of Costs Draftsmen and Costs Lawyers in the marketplace, Simon's unique selling point is that only he does the work. He does not accept instructions on the basis of passing work to an un-named fee earner, which appears to be the modus operandi adopted by larger firms and many in-house departments.
